Sorry for the lousy photo quality - the point-and-shoot Panasonic wasn't cooperating, and the birds moved too fast to give me a second chance at each perspective. This pair of birds showed up a week ago, and haven't returned since that one brief sighting. They're shaped something like a brown-headed cowbird, about 6-1/2" to 7" long (that bird bath is 16" diameter), but have that piebald feathering you see in the photos that follow. I've looked in Peterson, Audobon and internet; I'm stumped. Maybe a cowbird with intermediate or mutant plumage? Any ideas?
