Is ther a book to have simple answers from :
How many galaksies ,how big is solar system how far is the near star etc.

Most of my books are packed up. But, I think Patrick Moore has a couple of very nice astronomy encyclopedias that make great coffee table books filled with basic facts and impressive pictures. You might check out Astronomica.
