What do you guys make of this economic era? Will the market go up in the long term? Or, is the country going to be eclipsed by other nations?

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.

IF the knuckleheads in DC could ever make a large scale structural change in the tax code (like a national sales tax so as to broaden the tax base) then we could see pretty good returns in the next few years. If they enacted large parts of the Simpson Boles studies, we could see good growth.
The country needs something to radically increase aggregate demand. Wars do this, only the last 2 we had were unfunded which is a big cause of the latest debt issue.

Unless we begin to produce more than we consume, we are not going to improve any time soon. We need to stop sending all the jobs overseas and start doing more Made In America products that are the best in the world.
The other thing we need is energy, whether it be oil drilling in all the places we can find or some other form, we need to stop send all that money overseas as well.
