The best part is when Trump suggests that maybe the FBI raided his gold-plated swamp hotel because they were looking for Hillary's emails. Seriously, is he brain damaged?

People actually want this doofus as president again?

I think they were looking for JFK Jr. Any word on his whereabouts?

He's hanging out with Elvis in a dive bar in Pahrump, NV.

According to the latest MU poll:

  1. 34% still have a favorable opinion of Trump.
  2. In a hypothetical Biden vs. Trump 2024 matchup, 36% would vote for Trump, 40% for Biden, and 19% for someone else.
  3. 67% believe Trump did have classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
  4. 69% believe Trump is responsible for the violence at the Capitol on 1/6.
  5. Trump has a 64% unfavorable opinion.
  6. only 31% would like to see Trump run in 2024.

So, as implausible as it seems, there is a minority that would like to see him back in the office despite his apparent failures and problems.

In other words, somewhere between 30% and 36% of the population are gullible fools. That's a high number! Sometimes I think there ought to be a minimum IQ requirement to vote.

Cue the screamer.

Hi Brian:

The screamer is in a "licking my wounds" phase right now.  He'll be back this weekend raring and ready to go, assuming past behavior is any guide.

On the merits, I don't think the hard-core Trump base are gullible fools, or morons as you mentioned yesterday.  (Yes, there are plenty of stupid people out there, but no political faction has a lock on them).  The hard core Trump base believes the institutions of the nation are irredeemably corrupt and hopelessly biased.  They are tired of being mocked and belittled.  So, in my opinion, the hard core Trump base will latch on to anyone who is willing to sling mud at the establishment and tear down establishment institutions.  Trump is their gladiator, profound flaws and all.  That said, the Trumpsters I know do not admire him personally.

As an aside, and unfortunately, I think that the overwhelming resentment driving Trumpism is somewhat understandable.  We are a very polarized and angry nation.

Our nation needs an inspired and inspiring leader to start the healing.

Sorry, but it's hard to listen to Trump for 5 minutes and not think anyone who's a fan (and there are a lot of them) isn't an idiot.
