Romney isn't concerned about those 47% who will always vote Democrat.

These include:
* Elderly on SS
* Students
* Disabled
* Unemployed
* Full-time workers making low enough wages or having enough dependents to qualify for tax credits
* Finally, the freeloaders

Flip is kind of blunt in his assessment. 8O Don't know how this is going to play out if at all.

Jim, you are usually more thoughtful than this. Let us also include:
Those with a higher education, who tend to be liberal.
Union members
Minorities
Those who are not freeloaders but who believe that government's responsibilities include "promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty," etc.
Recent immigrants
Women

I saw that and came to the conclusion it won't change many, if any, minds. the people that feel the same are already voting for Romney, those that don't...won't.

It is what it is...

C'mon Jim, let's be a little more fair with this mudslinging stuff. He's not worried about getting their votes. He's not worried about having to campaign to them, because he knows it's a lost cause. This has no relevance to whether he cares about them as people.

You don't really want to start a debate about which candidate has personally helped more people in need, do you?

* Elderly on SS: recent polls I've seen indicate that Romney is leading Obama among seasoned citizens.
* Students: Just recently saw a poll that indicated that students will be voting in larger numbers this presidential election. The reason: anger about the bad economy. Although they didn't specify any candidate in the poll, the polling company concluded that Obama is probably the recipient of that anger based on the wording of the polling questions.
* Disabled: The number of people on SS disability is growing monthly. Many of these are people who used to have jobs, they want jobs, but cannot find them now. These people are going to rush out and vote for Obama?
* Unemployed: Dittos disabled, above.
* Full-time workers making low enough wages or having enough dependents to qualify for tax credits: So Romney has pledged to take away their tax credits?
* Finally, the freeloaders: I'll grant that one, they'll always vote democrat.
