NY Times Double Standard: Catholic and Islam

Pamela Geller was struck by that ad The New York Times ran the other day, “It’s Time To Quit The Catholic Church“( http://nlt.ashbrook.org/assets_c/2012/03/New%20York%20Times%20Anti-Catholic%20Ad-344.php ), an “open letter to ‘liberal’ and ‘nominal’ Catholics”. So she sent in her own ad, “It’s Time To Quit Islam“ ( http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/03/counter-jihad-offense-afdisioa-counters-new-york-times-anti-catholic-ad-with-same-only-accurate.html ), an “open letter to ‘moderate’ Muslims”. Analogous artwork, same pitch, only difference being the intended target. The Times’ Senior Vice-President for Corporate Hogwash called to tell Miss Geller that – surprise! surprise! – they were way less eager to rush this one into print:

Bob Christie, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications for the New York Times, just called me to advise me that they would be accepting my ad, but considering the situation on the ground in Afghanistan, now would not be a good time, as they did not want to enflame an already hot situation. They will be reconsidering it for publication in “a few months.”

So I said to Mr. Christie, “Isn’t this the very point of the ad? If you feared the Catholics were going to attack the New York Times building, would you have run that ad?”

So I said to Mr. Christie, “Isn’t this the very point of the ad? If you feared the Catholics were going to attack the New York Times building, would you have run that ad?”

Mr. Christie said, “I’m not here to discuss the anti-Catholic ad.”

I said, “But I am, it’s the exact same ad.”

He said, “No, it’s not.”

I said, “I can’t believe you’re bowing to this Islamic barbarity and thuggery. I can’t believe this is the narrative. You’re not accepting my ad. You’re rejecting my ad. You can’t even say it.”

Thus the courage of the secular left: If you’re going to be “provocative”, it’s best to do it with people who can’t be provoked. Pamela is right. If you want to be treated with respect by The New York Times and the rest of the multiculti establishment, make it clear you’re willing to kill them. That’s an interesting message to send.

It is exactly why they have TV shows mocking Christians and calling them names, but they would not dare create a show making fun of Muslims and calling them names.

The media and Hollywood know it is safe and fun to attack Christians, Catholics..etc..because they won't rise up and try to kill you..Muslims will....the fear of enciting homegrown Muslim terrorists is real in the minds of these loons.

One good reason to question the *PEACE* part of the Muslim claim.

Double standard is right.

Eternity is a long time to be wrong.....so accept Jesus as your Savior.
