Why is it when I finally get excited about a sport something like this comes along to ruin it? I have been enjoying stargazing while listening to Vin Scully announce the Dodgers games this season.
And then this...
Bill Veeck said "Baseball must be a great game, because the owners haven't been able to kill it."
With the players and the owners working together, well, my favorite game faces even greater challenges...
On an up note for the Dodgers... This is going to save them about 7.7 million dollars. A local sportwriter suggested this would cover Jake Peevy's salary if they got him in a couple of weeks...
Given poor team the Padres have put on the field, I think they owe it to Peevy to trade him to a decent team. Last week, he faced the Dodger in Dodger stadium, struck out 12, gave up 2 hits and no runs in his 8 innings. The Dodgers ended up winning it in the ninth. The Padre reliever who pitched the ninth manage to walk in the only run of the game...
Oh well...
