My Padres....

It looks like the Padres just may avoid a 100 loss year... If they can just win 2 games out of the next 4... Sounds easy enough but for a team playing .386 ball, well maybe it's not so easy...

Sometimes it's not too difficult to see why a team fails... Petco Park is a pitcher's park... speed and defense and a good pitching staff, the Cardinals with Willie McGee, Ozzie Smith, and the rest. The Dodgers with Kofaux, Drysdale, Willie and Tommy Davis, Maury Wills... Speed makes things happen, speed makes defenses better...

So it's pretty easy to see what happened to the Padres, the front office puts together an all time slow footed team...

Prime statistic: During the month of July, the Padres stole one base... Greg Maddux at 42years old...

The good thing about rooting for the Padres, you're in San Diego so even when they are in their normal finishing spot, last place, the weather is still wonderful, the beaches are beautiful, the mountains are less than an hour away, the desert a couple hours...

Yeah, wait till next season, we'll put together a team that can play .500 ball yet.
