M 31 with 6" f/4 Newt

I guess I'll never get tired of trying this target.

This one was made with a Nikon D50 on a 6" f/4 Newt, made with a Coulter mirror circa 1971 ($39.95). 26 x 6 min, ISO 1600. A Baader MPCC was used on the 6" f/4. This is a full frame image. DSS, PSCS3 used for processing. Thanks for looking.

Here is a crop of the first image, about 88% reduction from full resolution. The residual coma is more visible here. I intended to get some shorter exposures to fill in the burned-out core, but, alas, I got too cold and tired. Oh well, maybe next time.
