Hawk Moth - of some sort?

This large moth appeared at our camp on my recent trip to central Utah. It was about 2 to 2.5 inches in length. Upon closer inspection, it was missing the front two legs on the right side. You can see that they don't appear in the photo.

Ty,

Hard to tell in this photo, but most hawk moths have a slightly different wing shape. That looks an awful lot like a Catocala species; the group is commonly known as the "underwings" since the hind wings have bold patterns but are usually hidden by the fore wings.
