Hello:
Here's the first refractor that I've made. It's a 144 mm f/14.5 achromatic doublet. The tube is aluminum from Hastings, and the scope is strapped to a G-11 mount. Without a pier extension, the eyepiece is still about 6" off the ground when the scope is pointed at zenith. I use it most often for star parties at local schools, where the low eyepiece height helps make the scope a bit more kid friendly.
