The local hamfest was today & it got me thinking about selling the IC-735 I never use. I'm wondering about the the potential to use it for radio astronomy. I am currently most interested in solar observing.
Anyone with experience in this field?

It's been many years since I tried it, but under the right conditions one can listen to radio emission from Jupiter with an HF rig. It's best described as a swishing sound, and can be heard in the upper part of the HF spectrum--that is, above about 15m.
