Being 64 years old, I enjoy the sci-fi movies of the 50's, before everything got so high tech.
I have a collection of the old Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon movies, plus almost all the others.
Some of the best are:
When the World Stood Still
War of The Worlds
Earth vs Flying Saucers
This Island Earth
Invaders from Mars
Destination Moon
When Worlds Collide
It Came From Outer Space
Monolith Monsters and others that I have not mentioned.
Maybe I am different, but I just enjoy those movies and always will.

Great films. The fears of the time really shaped the movies. I'd add Invasion of the Body Snatchers to your list.

Few of the later remakes were significant improvements over the oldies, with the exception of The Thing. The 2011 remake with Kurt Russell was a good movie IMO, haven't seen the 2011 remake.

There's also "IT, Terror from Beyond Space", which, in part, inspired "Alien".

The first time I saw the original "Thing", I was about 10, home alone, my parents were off playing cards at the neighbors, my older brother was at a party, it was dark and snowing like crazy. OMG. I still find this movie first rate with an exceptional script, great (read "natural")acting great pace and some truly unexpected scenes that make you JUMP. And who could ever forget the scene where they all stand around at the alien crafts crash site (it's under the ice), arms out stretched, almost holding hands, to figure out its shape. A classic in every regard.
