Eyepiece - anyone seen these

Posted By Mark Visser

I would guess that this is part of the new "W70" Series of eyepieces from Antares.... They compare to Orion's Highlight plossl's but have greater eye relief and wider field of view...

All retail for 75.00 Canadian except the 25mm which is 100 Canadian.

celestron accesory kit

Posted By Mark Visser

I have this set..... It is a great starter set... The 6mm and 4mm have very little eyerelief but are usable.... I mostly use the 32,15, and 9... The barlow is actually pretty good.. Not as good as an ultima but much better than the single lense ones the dealers typically throw in with the scope. The filters are also good quality.

I wouldn't hesitate at all to buy this set as a starter set.

To buy or not to buy binoculars?

Posted By Mark Visser

To me binocular viewing is a different experience and type of viewing than a telescope... You already have 2 scopes so I would definately go for it! I can't stand using a regular tripod with bino's so I just hand hold the 15x70's which is adequate for me and my type of observing..

Good Luck,

Orion 100mm as an Alternative?

Posted By Mark Visser

I've compared both... the Burgess kicks the Orions butt!!

You may want to look up some of the reviews of the
proto-type on the Yahoo burgess forum..

Burgess 102mm mount Options

Posted By Mark Visser

I guess it depends on what you want...

if you want a really quick grab and go then Bill has a nice graphite tripod that will work great with the 102..

Others were going with the cg5 that anacortes had on for 249.00

may be a Burgess Goto Mount?

He does have one in the works but after the 127f8 and 102f6 experience I think he is waiting till they are in his hands before he says anything more about them.
