Anyone with a Monster Focus setup

Posted By Anthony Orzechowski

I just purchased a Monster Focus from Van Slyke engineering. I have a 12" LX200, and would first like to know: 1. How do you determine where to lock the primary mirror for focus? 2. If I place a 90% diaginal at the end, the unit will not fit through the fork. When the ota rotates, I am fearfull that the unit will hit the bottom of the meade. Any help!!!!

Any feedback on the 22 Nagler?

Posted By Anthony Orzechowski

I am looking to purchase one to compliment my 31 Nagler. Is it worth the price, or should I go for the 26 Nagler. I would like to stay all 2"

Dome Question?

Posted By Anthony Orzechowski

I have been following the unexceptable problems and delays that everyone who ordered a Moonshine domes. My heart goes out to all of you, and I hope you all receive the justice you deserve! Since watching this unfold, I am also looking into putting a dome on a new garage and would like to ask the forum about Technical Inovations Domes? I am considering spending the $5000.00 for a complete package of one of their 6' domes, and would like some feedback on them. After seeing people unfortunately get taken from Moonshine, I am curious on the more expensive ones. Quality, service and do they come through with a product?
I hope everyone involved in the Moonshine problem has it resolved to his or her satisfaction. The professional and friendly atmosphere in the astronomy community is quite refreshing for a newbee like myself.

Good Luck in the future!

I am looking to shoot film for astrophotography. I have been a professional photographer in the past, but would like to hear from many suggestions about what is the perfered medium format camera for astrophotography? I have owned Hasselblads, but I have noticed may astrophotographers using the Pentax 6x7. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The camera will be going on an LX200 12"

Any idea's?

Mount for a Nikon 20X120

Posted By Anthony Orzechowski

Our club just purchased a Nikon 20X120 Bino's and was wondering if it would make any sence in mounting them with the fork to a german equatoral mount? Tracking with these bino's would be a plus. The weight with the fork mount is around 45#'s. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
