G8N

Posted By Charlie Liggett

I've just purchased a G8N Celestron scope. They (Chinese) use a corrector lens between the secondary and the primary. The corrector is achromatic and produces the same color as a achromat refractor. What would be the possibility of having a apochromat lens made for the scope? The views for this f5 scope seem to be pretty sharp to the edge, but with the lens you get the purple haze on certain stars. Any advise? I know, buy a quality scope. This is a stand in scope until I can afford my dream combo.

Losmandy G-100

Posted By Charlie Liggett

Just purchased a G-100 and want to know if there are any manuals available for it. I would like to know the specs in detail. I know it was the one the G-11 replaced, but hope the capacities are similar.

All cars built after 2015 should be powered by...

Well the obvious choice that I see is keep Government out of it as much as possible and let the market dictate the fuel of choice. The quickest way to develop new ideas is to run out of old ones, so continue to use all the sources we have now (ANWR and off shore) in a responsible manner and eventually we will require better ideas (nuclear,Hydrogen, air, etc.) Considering how many cars and trucks and power plants and other items made from petroleum, I'd say our planet is pretty clean, not like in the earlier years. Technology has done that for us and it will help us in the future, without all the politicians (liars) help. Yes both sides are serving their own interests and I will not vote for either this time.

Who wins the 2009 Super Bowl?

I've been a AFC fan (Broncos) all my life, and I have always liked the Steelers, but the Cardinals are going to mess up a whole lot of parties this year. Charlie

The UN

When the polls always reflect what the liberals believe, I don't hear you guys whining. I for one do absolutely believe the UN is one of the biggest money pits and dangers for our country there is, and these treaties we sign places our Constitution in peril. It doesn't matter if you all believe it or not, that is the facts. If you don't like the polls then don't participate in them.

The UN

BO has transfered more wealth in the last 2 months than all the last presidents in our history. I agree Bush was a huge spender and I for one didn't like it, because it put him in the same family as the tax and spend liberals. I would have thought the liberals would have embraced him in all the spending he did. You realize if you took 100% of all the income from everyone who makes $75,000. a year and above and applied it to the BO spending spree, there would not be enough to pay the debt. The Republicans and Democrats need to quit passing all these bailout giveaways and enslaving our future generations. Liberals squawk about Big Corporations, but go right ahead and bail them out. Republicans squawk about Big Government and allow the government to entrench itself deeper and deeper into our lives. It is time for all the above to pull their heads out of their butts and do what is good for our future, not their cronies. Also BO wasn't put in office by the majority of the people. Look up the numbers of popular votes. This is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy and that worked to his advantage this time. It worked to Bush's last time.

All these bailouts are .....

I have never ever not ever seen such incompetent people running our Country as what we have from the White House down to the Senate and House. Even our States seem to be stacking more boobs in office than ever in history. When this is all over, if we still have a country there will be the largest debt that has ever been put on the taxpayer, including all the presidents prior to this guy. Charlie Liggett

I prefer this telescope design

Posted By Charlie Liggett

So, the refractor group is the most popular. I wonder if that is the reason there seems to be more ads selling refractors than any other design? Maybe your not totally satisfied with them as you think. For a good scope that covers most bases well, a SCT is very hard to beat, especially one with Hyperstar. Sorry to stir up a hornets nest. Charlie
PS: If they made a refractor in a 10-16" that cost 3-5k then they would be the best.
