New FS102 II

Posted By Art Ciampi

I have a prototype of the FS-102NSV. It is only 24" long with the lens shade retracted. It is at the far edge of airline portable. The only addition we will make as an option is the 10 to 1 fine focus mechanism.
the optics are identical. Your telescope is great and there would never be a need to get the new one.

Re: short FS78?

It is still the same focal ratio, etc, except that the physical tube has been shortened by 50mm.

TOA sliding dew shields

Posted By Art Ciampi

No, because they are felt lined. They have been supplied on the FSQ-106 for almost four years and I have not had anyone tell me that their tube was marred in any way by the felt liner. The Sky-90's have had them for three years and the TOA-130's have them now.

All future new refractors will have them as standard equipment.

They are very convenient and easy to use and they are very well made.
