FCT-65,FCT-125,FC-150

Posted By Art Ciampi

I have used the FCT-65 and saw the prototype FC-125 at the Takahashi factory in 1986. All are fine instruments.

There is an FC-150 in use by the Takahashi distributor in France Optics Unterlinden. I beliee they use it as part of their collimator.

Mounting a G-11 on a EM400 Tripod??

Posted By Art Ciampi

The NJP uses three 10mm bolts to attach to the tripod adapter, while the EM-400 uses a very heavy flange.

The EM-400 tripod adapter is about 35% heavier than the NJP tripod adapter.

Are you using a diagonal? If so, try it straight through and then inspect the diffraction pattern.

If it is the same straight through, please contact me and we will help you.

Posted By Art Ciampi

The Extender TOA 1.6 is best suited for the Mewlon and all the refractors f/7 or longer. The Extender-Q was designed for the FSQ, Sky-90 and FS-60C.

New Takahashi "TSA-102S"

Posted By Art Ciampi

The TSA-102N does not have a retractable lens lens shade. In this case the "S" connotation denotes a retractable lens shade.

This is a TSA because the optical design uses a narrow air space and places the ED element in the middle. It is very different from the TOA.

You can check dealer's websites for an image of the instrument. It does no show it with the lens shade retracted.

New Takahashi "TSA-102S"

Posted By Art Ciampi

Takahashi decided to design the TSA Series using Ohara glass and having the lenses ground by an affiliate company. The TSA is a triplet and the FS is a doublet, very different.

Canon has nothing to do with this new design except that they own a large share of Ohara's stock and hence Ohara is an affiliate subsidiary of Canon.

All of Takahashi's telescopes are designed by Takahashi.
