Sculptor Galaxy - NGC 253

Posted By Jim Thommes

This is my first post on this forum. I thought I would post one of my recent images.

I have processed this image of NGC 253 from data I took in September. I was using my C8 operating at f/2.8 and my ToUcam SC3/Raw modded webcam. I have attached a midsize thumbnail, but you can access the full sized image as well as exposure and processing details at:

Cave Nebula - Sh2-155, Caldwell 9

Here is a medium sized thumbnail of this object I imaged in September. It was done with my C8 operating at f/2.8. The camera used was my my modified ToUcam.

A full sized image as well as exposure and processing details can be accessed at:

IC 5146 Cocoon Nebula

Posted By Jim Thommes

This was my third try at the Cocoon over the past few years. I have always found this to be a challenging object (and continue to do so) - probably because I keep doing it at f/5 instead of f/2.8. I have attached a mid sized thumbnail of the latest effort and a full sized image with processing and exposure details can be accessed at:

Propeller Nebula - DWB111

IC 1805

Posted By Jim Thommes

Greetings,

I have an image of the IC1805 area as well as a close up of the brighter central area. I have attached a thumbnail of the wider field image. Full size images and exposure / processing details can be seen at:

http://jthommes.com/Astro/IC1805.htm

Both images are on this page. Both were taken with the ToUcam SC3/Raw Camera. The wide field was using my Megrez II at f/2.6 and the narrow field shot was taken with the C8 at f/2.8. The narrow field shot was taken from my light polluted residence in the city (thank heavens for HAlpha filters). Total exposure time on each image was about 50 minutes.

NGC 891

Posted By Jim Thommes

Here is an image of this remarkable edge on Galaxy. I have attached a mid sized thumbnail, but a full size image as well as additonal exposure and processing details can be accessed at:

http://jthommes.com/Astro/NGC891.htm

The scope was my C8 operating at about f/4; the camera is a ToUcam SC3/Raw. It is a relatively short exposure - total of about 40 minutes of LRGB.

Galaxy IC 342

Posted By Jim Thommes

This Galaxy I am told is near and bright but obscured by Milky Way dust. I was at a dark site and managed some longish exposures for a webcam with IR filter only for luminance. I had to stretch the image a little more than usual. I have attached a mid size thumbnail; full size image and exposure / processing details are at:

Globulars M56 and M75

Posted By Jim Thommes

I imaged these somewhat smallish globulars recently - from my front driveway which is in a light polluted area. I have attached an image of M56. Both images can be accessed (as well as exposure / processing details) at:

http://jthommes.com/Astro/M56.htm

http://jthommes.com/Astro/M75.htm

Scope: C8 at f/5 and f/10 respectively. LRGB images with ToUcam SC3.
