Leonid hunting with the Zenitar fish eye

Posted By Tom Licha

Hello,

I was able to test my new fish eye lens Zenitar 16mm last night. It is delivering 32 degrees FOV at my HX916. I hope we will have a clear night when the Lenoid shower will arrive!

Test report is here:

tester for web deep sky planner needed

Posted By Tom Licha

Hello,

I updatet my deep sky planner to reflect your latitude according to the language adjusted in your browser. The planner should make a reasonable guess about your world wide location.

If someone is interessted to test this and check, wether the planner suggests reasonable skyobjects for your location to be highest in the sky around midnight, please follow that link:

Active Ventilation and HiRes WebCam Imaging

Posted By Tom Licha

Hi,

I was able to image the effects on imaging at 0.165 seconds of arc with/without active ventilation with a fan on my 12 inch Newtonian.

The improvement is noticable and I thought you might be interessted in that hust before the great Mars opposition.

Re: Simple digital pics of the planets.

Hi Rick,

I do it with a WebCam but I can refer to the images of Wes Higgins, done with a Dobson and Olympus 2100 UZ. These shots are great. I have not seen better ones.

Good luck

300D, RemoteCapture and bulb

Posted By Tom Licha

Hi there,

I wanted to sequence bulb exposures with the 300D and RemoteCapture. I can select bulb as an exposure time, but RemoteCapture refuses to shoot. With 30s and less everything is perfect.

Anyone who made this work?

Thanx
Tom
