There will be a discussion of this subject on NPR's Science Fridays today for those who are interested. This is a SCIENCE program and doesn't have a history of dealing with politics, so the fact that they feel the need to discuss this is noteworthy:

As we are all (presumably) amateur astronomers, I expect we all have some degree of interest in science and how it is being used; that is why I wanted to give this heads up. I believe the program starts at 2 p.m. EST.

Third parties have long offered an option and voice for those frustrated with the major parties, even though they didn't stand a snowballs chance. All well and good... up until the last election that is. A lesson was learned about the real price of wasting votes. Instead of 5%, I expect Nader will be lucky to get 2% this time around, and that won't be enough to make him a spoiler. Also Scalia will be out of the loop. wink

By the way Michael, I do keep my guns locked in a safe that's bolted to the wall and also to a concrete floor... all but one of them that is. If there were any kids in the house, that one would stay in the safe too.
