Overreaction?

Are the Bushies playing politics with homeland security in order to distract from falling poll numbers?

Would you want to know if they were?

We are all glad when a genuine terrorist is caught and taken out of the game, dems and reps alike. That you would attempt to turn this story into a diatribe against liberals is pretty silly Jim. I think you need to loosen your shoelaces a little bit. wink I don't have a problem giving Bush credit for any good he may accomplish; I just wish it was more than a fraction of all the damage he has caused.

Jim, there's a little problem with your math. See if you can figure out where it is. As for the rest of your post? It only shows that if a lie is repeated often enough, a certain percentage of the people start believing it... it worked on you didn't it? wink

BTW Jim, since you seem to be in such awe of Bush's character and leadership abilities, here's a fun little exercise for you: Do a quick google search on 'Bush bailouts'. You'll learn all kinds of interesting things about the Bush "character". I'm sure all that stuff is just another liberal plot though. wink

Jim, I realize that GWB is trying to (tentatively) position himself alongside Reagan right now (insofar as such a thing is possible), but most people, right OR left realize what a stretch that comparison is. Now when you say "landslide" do you mean another supreme ct appointment? wink

Safe Harbor???

Is any one else concerned that the U.S. House is considering a law which would allow churches to endorse candidates for elective office three times in a year without losing tax exempt status?

ABSTRACT - House Republicans quietly introduce measure to make it easier for churches to support political candidates, just days after Bush campaign comes under fire from liberal groups for inviting church members to distribute campaign information at their houses of worship; Rep Bill Thomas of California, chmn of House Ways and Means Committee, adds measure to a much larger bill that centers on revising certain corporate taxes; provision, called Safe Harbor for Churches, would allow religious orgns a limited number of violations of existing rules against political endorsements without jeopardizing their tax-exempt status (M)
