Image stacking/processing

Greetings,

I hope to capture some images of Mars this week using the ToUcam Pro. This will be my first attempt. Is there a "cookbook" way one should, capture, stack, and process the photos? I've read a lot of the messages posted....hopefully what I've read will help out a little bit. I have Registax and Adobe Photoshop that I can use. I'll be photographing through a C-8 and using a 2x barlow. Any and all information is greatly appreciated. I'm extremely impressed with all the images shown in this forum....keep up the good work!

ToUcam Pro First Light - Mars

Greetings,

This was my first attempt at imaging Mars with the ToUcam Pro. I captured this through my C8 and a 2x Barlow. 294 images were aligned and stacked with Registax.

My image processing and editing still needs a lot of work. I'm a newbie at this part of the photographic spectrum. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated. I've browsed over hundreds of images and read numerous postings. It seems to have helped! Everyone else keep up the good work and keep posting for others to enjoy!

Mars 7/24/03

Here is another image from 7/24/03 captured with a ToUcam Pro. I toyed around with this one a bit longer on Registax and PhotoShop. It is comprised of 288 stacked and aligned images from a 30second avi. I used 10fps and about 10% gamma when capturing.

I used my ToUcam Pro and C8 with a 2x barlow and a 80A blue filter. Captured at 0745 UT. Comments and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks to the forum for everyone's advice, tips and techniques. It's been of great help.

Mars 7/29/03

Greetings......

This was my second outting with the ToUcam Pro and imaging Mars. Seeing was excellent ~4/5 this morning with lots of detail to be found on Mars. I compared my image with the Mars Previewer II software. The image detail does match the previewer software. I'm impressed!

The image was taken through my C8 and a 2x Barlow. 266 out of 299 images were aligned, stacked and processed with Registax.

Mars Previewer ll Virus ?????

In the August issue of Astronomy Magazine, they gave a link in which to download the Mars Previewer II freeware. Unfortunately, that link for the download did have a virus (which I found out). I have since found a new source and this is virus free!!! Here is the link:

Once on the page, scroll down and you'll find it. It's easy to use with no problems.

Extremely nice image!!! Thanks for sharing and the info about the Baader UV-IR-Cut-Filter. Unfortunately the link you gave is out of stock! Anywhere else to purchase one?
