How is the the capacity of a GEM - or any kind of mount for that matter - determined/calculated? I posted this question on a Yahoo board (probably the wrong one for this type of question), without any luck. Anyone know?

Long story short: have been bitten by the bino bug. There is more data out there then I know what to do with. Would like opinions on the following:
Is the Denk 1 with special coatings worth the extra dough (~$150 - $175) over the Denk 1 Standard. Seeing how the Denk 1 with special coatings which puts you pretty much into the same financial ballpark as the Denk 2. Which of these is the biggest bang for the buck, or is it the Denk 1 standard that is the biggest bang for the buck? Finally how does the Siebert Black Knight stack up againgt the Denk?? Sorry for the stream of consciousness post, butI am soooo confused. This is tougher than deciding on a scope.

need some cleaning advice.

I recently bought a used 6" d&g. The glass looks to be perfect but the tube has a lot of dust in it. I was thinking of dragging a tack cloth though it, but before I "engage hands before putting brain in gear" does anyone have any advice on perhaps a better way of cleaning it, or for that matter, see a problem with the tackcloth idea?

Mewlon 250 and Tec 140 in tandem on a Mach1?? Anyone have a feel as to how far the Mach1 can be pushed? Got called for my credit card number for the Mach1 so the moment must be soon, or should I be kicking myself foe not having sprung for a 900?

the ad on A-Mart today under refractors? I think it was 4 or 5 scopes ranging from 206 down to a 130. All yours for $110k. Seller didn't want to split them up. The ad disappeared so fast I'm wondering about what I've been smoking.

Per the Brookings Institution, by 2018 Obama adds $3.5 Trillion to the debt, only to be outdone by McCain who would add $5 Trillion.
