Sounds like disinformation. Republicans are not above using it.

DENVER/HILLARY GROUP'S 1ST POST-CONVENTION AD

Posted By jeff glancy

How do you know they're a "Hillary Group", other then the fact that they claim to be. I didn't miss the disclaimer at the bottom: "Paid for by the Denver Group (thedenvergroup.org)and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee".
Sorry, but it's all a little too convenient for me, but you seem very adept at locating this stuff.
Republicans destroyed one of their own in the South Carolina primary in 2000, and of course there's always the swift boat folks. They seem to have a lot of money to spend on this trash but not very much with which to pay taxes.

Yes it is a bad dream- Oil and stock market

Posted By jeff glancy

It's all a matter of perspective. People will pay $3 for a Starbucks latte or $1 for a 12oz plastic bottle of tap water and not question it.
Think about the kind of effort and money it took to find that gallon of gasoline. Factor in the dry holes, the rental on the drilling rig, the construction of the pipeline or the holding tanks, the government red tape, the taxes and royalty fees, the lease on the land or the bid on the tract, transportation from a refinery to a retail outlet and i think it starts to look pretty cheap.
Alternatively, figure what that gallon of gasoline will do for you. Chris Martenson put it best: Put just 1 gallon of gasoline in you gas tank, start up your car and go until you run out. The time it takes you to push your car back to the starting point multiplied by whatever hourly rate you assign your labor yields what that gallon of gasoline is worth.
Gasoline is cheap. Relatively speaking, it's very cheap.

Bush Speaks on Economy

Ask yourself the magic question and it won't seem so bad.
The magic question:

What did I expect?

Tell me he really didn't say that...

Well, I think one thing we could agree that would be very patriotic is to expect to finance our wars on a pay-as-you- go basis.

I have found that those who bitch the most about taxes expect the most in government services; desire the strongest military, the most secure boarders, the most secure transportation system, the safest drugs , the best educational system... you get my drift. Yet they don't feel that THEY should have to pay for them. It's a little like life in an alternative reality. Something like we've had for the past 8 years.

Is McCain Really Bush lll???

Posted By jeff glancy

I think you've finally stepped off of the curb, which doesn't surprise me as you seem to put devotion to party above recognition of reality.
So how do you want to it play from now on: McCain the great leader and maverick because he bucked some half assed Bush policies. Or eight years of great Republican leadership from the man in the White House and country should give the another four?
Seems to me you can't have it both ways, but you never stop to figure that out (or maybe you have got it figured out but it's that devotion to party over reality kicking in) .

Why should I trust

Posted By jeff glancy

I think you're nuts if you trust any of them. "They" say our financial system will fall apart without a taxpayer bailout of private institutions. Yet when Paulson was asked if those same institutions would concede equity positions or stock options in return for taxpayer money. He replied that it would be a deal killer.
Why??
Anyone putting up private equity would get at least as much, including an anti-dilution guarantee, board seats and a say so in corporate compensation.
These people simply want to offload their mistakes on the public and then it's business as usual.
How can anyone with more then a room temperature IQ find that acceptable?

McCain Suspends Campaign to Help Rescue Economy!

Posted By jeff glancy

"Now this is the kind of leadership this country needs!"
Pathetic.
McCain was going to have his head handed to him in a debate. He knows nothing about economics. A bankrupt representative of a bankrupt party. When you hit rock bottom - discover God or take refuge posing as a patriot.

The DEBATE...not much of one.

I doubt that anyone for Obama was sent running to McCain or anyone for McCain was sent running to Obama. Although partisans will each nit pick their way to victory.
Now, Sarah Palin's interview with Katy Couric - can you say air-head.
