At $750 a pop, I've hit the stargazing wall. I'm sure it's terrific but I've got the 13mm and the 8mm and I guess it's time to go in a different direction.

In the neighborhoods I grew up in, that's pretty much what they would be thinking. Won't be the the first time a good person bites the dust because of ignorance. Hope it doesn't happen but Americans always seem to get the leaders they deserve.

A Gold Mine?

I have never done well with gold mining shares. In a down market they seem to drop as fast or faster then the PoG. In an up market they always seem to lag the gain. Same thing has been true for oil and energy in general lately. For whatever reasons gold and energy seem to be despised by Wall Street - maybe it's because they reflect tangible value? To me, Wall Street seems to be more into "concepts".

I think that it's crystal clear that McCain can get elected without the black vote but Obama cannot get elected without the white vote.
There are more then a few who will not vote for Obama simply because of the color of his skin. These idiots wouldn't accept blood from a black donor if they were bleeding to death and sadly I know more than a couple of them.
If McCain wins, I hope it's a blowout. A margin that's so big that the redneck and swamp yankee vote won't matter. On the other hand if Obama pulls it off, then maybe I don't know as many rednecks and swamp yankees as I believe.

The desperation of the RNC (your presumed employer)is getting palpable. I also assume that they've had an infusion of new cash - and accounts for your re-emergence. If you don't mind me asking - what are you hitting them for? I figure $1.25 for every thread started, $.10/view, $.35 for a response by you (any thread), $.20/per direct response to any of your posts. By the way, the ploy about being a disaffected Hilary supporter was a great opener - too bad you overplayed that hand. Was that your idea or the gang at the RNC?
