Floor of Clavius

Posted By Wesley Higgins

Hi,

This is an image of most of the floor of Clavius, when using a 5x Powermate with my 14.5 Starmaster all of Clavius will not fit on the CCD of the DMK 21F04 Firewire camera, the actual magnification of this image is around 1100x .
With a 4x Powermate I can just squeeze in the entire crater

Stack of 65 frames,30 FPS,1/1024 Sec exposure

Thanks,

Wes Higgins

*Odd Shape* Clavius along terminator

Posted By Wesley Higgins

Okay I'm not part of the face on Mars crowd smile but I just noticed this square shape in the crater Deluc (see red arrow in my image)I don't think it is a processing artifact,
I believe it is just a lighting and shadows effect, I thought it might be interesting to show though.

Thanks,

*OT* Night time balloon fest image *400k*

Posted By Wesley Higgins

Hi,

I took this image last night (08/14/04) at the OKC balloon
fest, it was a great night for a balloon fest, almost no wind and low seventy degree temperatures.
Sort of off topic but I though it might be a nice image to share.
Olympus C-2100 digital camera

Day time Saturn image

Posted By Wesley Higgins

Hi,

This monochrome Saturn image is not much to look at but I guess it is one of the first Saturn images this opposition.
The image was taken this morning (08/17/04) 12:45UT in almost complete day light(I could not see the planet naked eye), the altitude was only 28 degrees and the seeing was less than average.
I was out taking images of Venus and I thought I would give Saturn a try, I may post some Venus images later.

Starmaster 14.5 , DMK-21F04 Firewire camera, 1/32 second exposures, stack of 951 frames .

Thanks,

Wes Higgins

Paolo R. Lazzarotti Amazing Lunar Image

Posted By Wesley Higgins

Hi,

I have been corresponding with Paolo R. Lazzarotti from Italy and he has some amazing lunar images, below is a link to one of them, the crater Walter.
The sharpness and detail of this image is astonishing to me.
