Fox News Online

Posted By Jim Johnson

Been spending a lot of time on Fox News online and have added it to my favorite bar. I do think they need to get rid of the Fair and Balanced logo because they are not. Like many network news centers they are biased - obviously toward Republicans. Nothing wrong with that as much of the others are biased toward Democrats. If you want to find out what Obama or Democrats or liberals are doing wrong - go to Fox. There's a cornucopia of articles(I'm not talking about the Opinion section). Over the last few weeks I have been taking the You Decide polls. They seem to have a pattern. They include the conservative answer, a moderate answer and a more liberal answer. The results are often heavily skewed to the party line - 70% or more indicating that this site is heavily visited by conservatives - as expected.

However, they have articles that don't usually appear on other sites (liberal-leaning) so I will continue perusing it.

Returning federal lands to states

Posted By Jim Johnson

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/24/arizona-to-vote-on-taking-control-grand-canyon-next-front-in-agebrush-revolt/

What do you guys think about this? I have attached a map showing federal lands - it's amazing how much the fed controls. There are huge deposits of shale oil in the western US that can yield oil via fracking - as with the Dakotas - if they were under state control. On the other hand some of the federal holdings (natl parks, wildlife preserves, rare or fragile ecosystems) should not be disturbed. Can the states via courts compel the Feds to hand over some of the land or is it totally under the Feds control?

The world wants Obama to win

Posted By Jim Johnson

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20008687

Except for Pakistan, which favors Romney. A landslide for Obama.

Does this mean Obama's foreign policy is working?
Are they afraid Romney will start wars?
Are these countries socialist?
Are they crazy?

France overwhelmingly favors Obama which is a good reason to vote for Romney. 8)

Any explanations?

US could learn from Germany

http://news.yahoo.com/germanys-secret-staving-off-eurocrisis-manufacturing-152649303.html

They have increased their manufacturing base through small and middle sized companies that focus on exporting and finding niche markets. As socialized as they are they have provided an environment for mfg businesses. Other EU countries and the US have seen increases in the service industry which provides lower-paying jobs with fewer benefits. Sweden, an uber-socialist country, has worked closely with businesses to keep Sweden competitive.

If you put faith in polls Romney is making some credible gains.

Animal rights folks out of touch with nature

Deer here have no natural enemies (except man and automobile) and none whatsoever in this park to keep their numbers in balance; therefore they have to be culled lest they destroy vegetation or starve.

Majority of whites prejudiced

I am more inclined to be prejudiced toward cultures and not skin color which I am sure is the case with many of us crackers. For example, if you are against affirmative action you might be classified as racist.

What I haven't seen are polls where blacks and hispanics are asked their feelings toward whites, each other, asians, etc.

Another reason to change immigration

I like that the story broke from Minnesota Public Radio. We should limit immigration from Islamic countries not friendly to us - oh wait - that's all of them.

How bad is it?

That this story even appeared shows how big the divide and enmity between Democrats and Republicans is. Good for Christie for thinking of his state and constituents first and foremost and working with the President to get relief. Anyone who wants to make political hay from this ought to be ashamed.

The main reason I am voting for Moderate Mitt:
