Observatory book?

Look through the 'amateur observatories' links here:
http://obs.nineplanets.org/obs/obs.html

If you don't have anyone with carpentry experience in your build team, I would get someone.

Sharpless 187

What a pretty area, Jim.
I've only seen widefield images of the area. It presents a lot better with your field of view.
It looks like there were lots of good guide stars to choose from. That's always an attractive quality for an imager.

Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom

Hi Craig,
There are a few improvements beyond CS2 that would be of interest to an astrophotographer, but not many. If you can afford it, CS2 has just about all of the goodies that one would want.
Don't forget that the student discounts for Photoshop are substantial. If you have one in the family....
Pixinsight is an affordable alternative to Photoshop, but the learning curve is steep and not intuitive.

auction clock(s)

Posted By dan kowall

The same thing happened to me.
I sent emails to the appropriate people about a week ago but received nothing in return.
In past auctions I was able to bid in the last minute of the auction clock.

Jeff,
There is a simple adjustment that you can make to remove the slight blooming that you are seeing. The procedure is on the SBIG site.
The trade-off is that it slightly reduces the full well of the camera.

That's a fine rendition, Jim.
The seams are seamless () and the color is not overwrought.

Arp 147

That was a worthwhile project, Chris.
"A man's reach should exceed his grasp...." after all.
Arp only lists three galaxies with associated rings and you got one now.
Well done.
