Heys Guys,
I got this Egret at the Winter Star Party in the Keys in February 03. Taken with Nikon D100 and a great 80-400 VR purchased from my friends at ATWB aka jr.

Observatory in tower???

Posted By Brian Sledz

Ok I met with my architect for my new remodel home and he came up with the idea to put up a tower on our property. It will be for show as well as go. I can make it 40ish feet tall. We are planning the top floor for the scope and it will have a sloping roof to view south easier.
If the only thing on the top floor will be the scope, the control room is one floor lower, will I be able to take ccd? I posted this on the yahoo observatory group also, so sorry for the rerun.

A few quick ones from the Great Gray Owl Irruption

All taken with Canon 1DMKII and 500mm IS handheld, I hate dragging tripods out. I used the camera jpgs and applied a little capture USM. These are the most magnificient birds.

Health Care?

Posted By Brian Sledz

Can someone please explain to me why health care can't be made to be like car insurance? Every state enact their own minimum coverage say $5000 deductible with $10mm life time benefit. Make it mandatory that you have it, give a tax credit or gov't assistance to those below a certain reasonable income level, tax all employer health care benefits, tax them to help pay for it. (wow I can't believe I said that).
Allow any one else any coverage they would like to buy? Why is this hard? If you are tough to insure then you go to a certain higher risk pay plan. Why shouldn't someone who is getting $50k per year of drugs pay 15-25% more in premiums?
just thoughts on a beautiful 65o, rainy, dreary Saturday in Chicago.
