Can the equipment take the heat?

Posted By Ron Wodaski

The cameras should be able to take dry heat like that without problems. When I am using water cooling, I sometimes have to leave the camera out to dry from condensation, and I just let it bake in the sun.

Lubricants in the mount might be somehting to keep an eye on, however.

Eagle Nebula/Pillars of Creation in Ha

VEry sharp. 60 seconds is quite short for Ha; you got more detail than I would have expected.

Cool pictures, Jeff. Nicely done, all of them except this one.

M20 & M8 Mosaic

Very cool. Any more color saturation available? The Lagoon is nice an rich, but the Trifid, which is dimmer, is a little pale.

I guess that digital cameras have arrived if I am crtiquing the fine points, eh?

Well, except for all that, it's a nice image. Focus or seeing might have made it a bit soft. And of course multiple images would show more of the dim detail, even with all the extra light present.

Bubble in color

Nice iamge! Very, very 3D effect, and you have captured a lot of dim nebulosity.

I do think I see a green gradient, brighter in the lower half. The fact that the top half has a magenta cast and the lower half has a green cast makes me think you were dealing with some light pollution?

My adjustment is attached. I used Color Balance in Photoshop, and I added a touch of green to the top half, and subtracted a significant amount of green from the lower half (and did a little red/blue balancing while I was at it.)
