My astronomy club met last night, and we watched a dvd called "The Star of Bethlehem". The presenter used a planetarium program, historical records, and scriptures and put this together.  It's by the same director of "Passion of Christ".  It's very well done. the web site is:http://thestarofbethlehemmovie.com/index.php

There's a weekly handout in my home town,with advertisements,and coupons, etc. Thiswas in it.
There was a fellow talking to his friend about holidays;"Christians have Christmas, and Easter, and I'm sure that Muslims have their holidays, and Jews have Yom Kippur and others. Us Atheists don't have a national holiday, and this is unfair and discriminatory."
"Well, said his friend," You could always have April 1st."

magnetic field

I've read that the planet's magnetic north is moving. I have also heard that it is getting weaker. Some people are concerned about a polarity reversal. Could someone point me to some accurate data in these areas?

Here's what I know: There has been a warming trend in global temps over the last 150yrs or so. This rise seems to be a rebound from the "Little Ice Age". It's been demonstrated that since 1940 or so, industry started to produce considerably more CO2, released into the atmosphere.However, most of the increase in temps came before 1940. Here's my last link, for now. It pretty well demonstrates how and why I believe as I do. President Obama and Muslim law

Heard something interesting today. According to Muslim law,Obama, because his father was a muslim, is a Muslim. Since Barack professes the Christian faith, he is an apostate. It's considered even more evil than murder. Again, accoriding to Muslim law. Any Muslim can kill an apostate Muslim without fear of being charged with murder, and other Muslims are not required to try to stop the murder. Now consider Obama going to a Muslim nation, with at least part of the security being furnished by their gov't. Now imagine an attempt on his life. The political fallout would be horrendous.
