Near galactic center

Posted By Thomas V Davis

I had a chance the other night to do a little imaging. This is a dark nebula near the galactic center in Sagittarius. I couldn't find its specific catalog number -- nonetheless I thought it looked pretty cool.

M31 -- early in year

Posted By Thomas V Davis

It's pretty early in the year to image M31 but here's my first attempt. I need to work on it a little bit, but I think it's a good start.

M8

Posted By Thomas V Davis

Hi,

I finally got around to processing this image of M8. It was done with a Tele Vue 101 and ST-8E (HaR),
(HaR),G,B. Its sort of hard to bring out the fine, faint details of the periphery without burning out the center. Comments? Anything anyone else would have done?

Thanks,

Tom

M15

Posted By Thomas V Davis

After a frustrating summer (between never ending clouds and mount tracking problems) I finally got to image one night. I imaged the globular M15 and used it to test the new worm in my mount.

Helix Nebula

Posted By Thomas V Davis

Hi all,

Here's another Helix Nebula. I finally got a few clear nights. The seeing was not optimal during the RGB shoot, but still the image did not turn out too bad. What do you think?

Any comments or suggestions?

NGC 7380 in H-alpha and Red

Posted By Thomas V Davis

Hi all,

This is from the last two nights. 180 min H-alpha and Red combined. ST-8E with 10 min exposures. Hopefully I'll get the rest of the color data tonight.

NGC 7380 color

Posted By Thomas V Davis

Hi all,

I obtained the color data for NGC7380 the other night. I processed it today. The processing was a challange. I finally came up with LRGB 180:180:60:60. L and R = Ha,R (120,60). I pushed the processing to try to bring out faint portions of the nebula. What do you think? Did I push it too much?

NGC281 in H alpha

Hi all,

I took this image the other night. The weather outlook is poor for the next week so I won't be able to get the color data for a while sad .

ST-8E 100min. - 10 min frames

Washed through Maxim and PS.

Clear skies,

NGC 7380 reworked

Posted By Thomas V Davis

Hi all,

It always amazes me that the digital data we take from the sky can be put together in so many different way yielding greatly different results. Here is my NGC 7380 reworked. I'm always trying to find the "right" color balance. I find it difficult when using Ha Lum data.

ST-8XE (HaR)(HaR)GB 180:180:60:60

Hope your weather is clear -- mines not.

IC 410/NGC 1893 H-alpha

Posted By Thomas V Davis

Hello everyone,

I finally had some clear (albeit not too stable) skies but, of course, the moon was up. I decided to do some H-alpha imaging, so I chose IC410/NGC1893.

Here are the image specs:

60min @ 6nm Ha
AP155EDF; .67x reducer
ST-10XME

Processed in Maxim and PS.

Hope your having better weather than I am.
