Hey Jim and James,

p.s. The butterfly was originally posted by James L. The peony is mine from last year. This year they don't look so good. :-/

Dog and, er, Goat Show

Posted By Christine Canelos Welsh

On a recent road trip, we stopped at a roadside farmstand/petting zoo. Poppet was fascinated by the pygmy goats which were no bigger than her. One of goats was just as curious about her as she was of him.

Kickapoo Valley

Posted By Christine Canelos Welsh

This view of the Kickapoo River Valley is from the top of Mt. Pisgah, in Wildcat Mountain State Park near Ontario, Wisconsin.

The area is called the 'driftless' region, as it was untouched by the glaciers that scoured the north and east part of the state. The word 'Kickapoo' is supposedly from the Algonquian language and means something like 'first it goes here, then there'. It's fondly known as the world's most crookedest river. Having canoed it many times, I can attest. smile
