Thought for May 5th

The bicycle is the most civilized conveyance known to man. Other forms of transport grow daily more nightmarish. Only the bicycle remains pure in heart. -Iris Murdoch, writer (1919-1999)

This is known as the "Ice Cave" in Wildcat Mountain State Park, WI., carved out by dripping water. I'm told the name comes from the icicles that form in the winter.

Wedding Party

I, Reflector Woman, take you, Refractor Man,
To be my lawfully wedded observing partner.
In clear skies and in cloudy,
in dry air and in dew,
‘til the Big Crunch do us part.

Your favorite cheezy movies?

Posted By Christine Canelos Welsh

Fred's comments on liking comedic music as much as the "legit" stuff got me thinking. I'm the same way with movies. Given the choice between watching, for example, Citizen Kane or Tarzan the Apeman, I’m picking Tarzan every time.

Among my favorite cheezy movies:
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (with Don Knotts)
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
My Favorite Martian (the 1960’s one)
Willy Wonka (with Gene Wilder)
Wild America
and, anything with Godzilla in it.

Pass the popcorn! grin

Hey, thanks Herb!

Herb, thanks for adding the "Print friendly" feature to the forums (which I only just discovered now). It's nice to be able to print off the help and recommendations of fellow observers, without dropping off the ends of sentences!
So, thanks!!!
