Sunrise on Lake Michigan

Posted By Mark Hansen

I was out with friends this morning when this sailboat passed between us and the shore. Made for a good Sunrise pic. Taken with FZ20. No color editing. Slightly sharpened in PSP.

morning color vs valley fog

Posted By Mark Hansen

The recent humid and hot weather in Michigan has made for some colorful skies. The foggy valley, treeline and morning sky made for a good pic I think. No editing except to resize for posting. Taken with FZ20, but wish I had the Pentax 67 along instead.

Michigan water sunsets

Posted By Mark Hansen

Spent several nights camping on the East side of Big Lake here in Central Michigan. Captured these views with the Panasonic FZ20. The skies are quite dark, so the clear nights gave very nice Milky Way views too.

Common Loon

Posted By Mark Hansen

My family went camping on a remote lake here in Michigan and had several loons for company. As more lakes get crowded with houses, jetskis, etc, these are harder to find. Taken with Panasonic FZ20 and telextender at 18x optical.

Noticed this group in a field on the way to visit my folks. Had the FZ20 along so snapped some pics at 12x. The male kept an eye out constantly while the female shopped for food.

Nikon D50 anywhere? anyone?

Posted By Mark Hansen

I have surfed the net for a few hours now and have yet to find any long exposure astrophotos taken with the Nikon D50. Surely someone knows of a website with pics taken with this camera. Anyone using this camera? I just need to see a few pics to see if this camera can actually shoot astrophotos. BTW, there are hundreds of 300 and 350d pics out there. Maybe that's a sign...

Thanks!

14 to 20 footers on Lake Michigan

Posted By Mark Hansen

Gale force winds brought out marine storm warnings and high wind warnings today on Lake Michigan. I made the trek to Grand Haven to shoot a few pics. What a sight. Photos taken with Panasonic FZ20 with polarizer and one stop grad neutral density filter.
