Hello,

I want to replace the stock GSO 8" f/4 focuser with the Moonlight CR2.
I intend to use this setup with the Baader MPCC and a DSLR 350D camera.
Does anyone here know if I will have back focus problem?

Sky Commander 3 and Starry Night problems

Hello,

I am having problems to run my Sky Commander v3 with Starry Night 6.2.3. I have
successfully tested the DSC with THE SKY program.
The Starry Night can establish the serial communication but even without moving the scope the RA axis increases by 1h per second. I have also tested the response from the DSC using hyperterminal and also the ASCOM driver using ASCOM Dome, a Simulated DOME and the SKY COMMANDER. I was able to notice the DSC RA/DEC info into the ASCOM DOME window without any problem.

Does anyone can help me?

Nexstar 5 problem

I have a celestron nexstar 5 the begins to move uncontrololably while slewing or setting up alignment. only way to stop it is to shut it off and try to start over, but it just keeps happening. any suggestions?

Nexstar 8 se astigmatism help!????

Hello!

I have star tested a new Nexstar 8 SE and found a mild astigmatism when focusinf . I would like to know it it may caused for pinched corrector or any other reason. 

I also could not align the telrad red dot with the scope main optics.. Is it possible that the scope secondary is misaligned in such way that causef some astigmatism ? The collimation is only a little bit off also.

Hi,

But does exist a rule for the minimum distance between the secondary and the tube top ? I believe that I could cut a piece of tube without having problems. I have a 7" f/7 newt which the top tube end is much closer to the secondary than the 12.5" scope and I don't have such problems. Regarding the back end of the tube, I also will cut very near the primary cell. I am just waiting a bit in order to replace the current 11/4 focuser to a 2" one. Than I will have to move primary position into the direction of the tube end.
