Which eyepiece for planets?

Posted By Jason Blaschka

I will second the 7.5mm Tak LE. It is a great eyepiece and one of the most comfortable eyepieces I have. I use it with and w/o my TV 1.8x Barlow, which if you can find used, IMHO is one of the best barlows out there. I plan on adding the 5mm Tak LE next.

Barlow poll

I really like the Tele Vue 1.8x Barlow. It is NLA but can be found on the used market. I also like my older Vixen/Celestron "silvertop" 2x barlow. It is very short and well made. I use them all the time. I find them very useful for trying to ink out as much magnification as the atmosphere will allow.

102FL rear fluorite lens

Posted By Jason Blaschka

I have owned a SP-FL80S for 8 years plus. I am the 2nd owner. The scope was originally purchased new in 1985. The lens shows no affect inside and out. Living in MI, I deal with extreme temp changes and humidity and nothing seems to be really affecting this little gem.
