Is this a ds16 mount? it appears different!

Posted By John Love

It looks like someone put a Dec tangent arm from a Meade DS-16 or RG series mount on this Star-Liner. The setting circles look a little like they may be Meade too. You have a "frankenscope". ;o)
I always lusted for the Star-Liner scopes when I was a kid. This should be a fun restoration project.

Hi Steve

Nice shot.

Can you tell us more about your imaging setup? It is getting to be "galaxy season" and I am looking to set for longer focal length imaging with my APS size CCD. What kind of focal reducer did you use to get to f6.3? What did you guide with?

"Inquiring minds want to know" ;o)

Texas Spiney Lizard

Posted By John Love

Hey Ron

How big is he? I had a Texas Spiney lizard that lived in the tree in my yard for years. I named him Godzilla because he was about 12" long from nose to the tip of his tail.
I think I have a 35mm slide of him in a box somewhere.

Teton Range Panorama

Here is another panorama of the Teton Range with Lake Jackson.
I had to shrink it to 25% to be able to upload it.

Dillo Time

This little guy was at the Eldorado Star Party last year. It was rooting around and was totally oblivious to us as we watched. We sat in our chairs under the trees watching it for almost 30 minutes until it wandered off into the underbrush.

Teton Range Panorama

Here is another panoramic view of the Teton range. The vistas out west are just too wide for a single picture.

Okie-Tex...who's going?

Posted By John Love

I will be there!!! I can hardly wait to escape the light pollution of home.
Just look for me and Wes where the pink flamingos and the Alaska flag (Dipper and Polaris)are.

My setup is just to the right of the water tank and juniper bush near the center of the image.

See...The Moon is good for something.

Fantastic shots. Utah is on my "Bucket List" of places to observe and image.

I would like to see more.
