Hi,

Image from a couple of days back. When conditions are right, apperture always rule. Visually the image was superb with lots of details. Well worth getting out of bed early.

Well, not quite...

Weather here in South Florida was horrible. First time in my life I have imaged anything holding an umbrella over the scope. While a light drizzle was coming down I got a break in the clouds and managed to get the avi files for the two images below.

Kids, do not try this at home!

C8 sees Mars.

First Mars for new (to me) C8. Bought to be used as light weight camping scope, but it appears to have some imaging potential. Hope to try images in the future at longer fl than f/12.

Interesting to see how a mass produced scope will do against TEC 8" Mak imaging Mars. I think I know the answer...

Hello friends,

Mother nature did a fine job at preventing South Florida folks from enjoy the show. All images taken under light drizzle. Scope was covered with an umbrella rigged up to the mount. Wow, EQ mounted umbrella, that a new one.

Images are not great, but given the conditions I'm quite happy with them.

First light for re-cycled C8.

Solis Lacus is easily seen in the image. I had the focal reducer f/6.3 and due to weather conditions and only had time to get a short avi with the 2x barlow before the small break in the clouds dissapeared.

Hope mother nature was kinder in your side of the world.
