LOL, no I haven't. I haven't even plugged it in to see if it works or if you ripped me off. Just kidding.

Those are two very classic and wonderful scopes. Hang on to them.

Electric focusers.

Have you checked with JMI? Seems like they have a system for just about every scope out there.

Jim Thommes has been using this setup with excellent results. Check his web site:

Rather than Dew Removal, you need to be concerned with Dew Prevention. I know it's only semantics, but really, if you allow the dew to form, you've pretty much lost the battle for the night.

I use a dew shield and the Kendrick system for Dew Prevention. Being in Wisconsin, it's pretty much required to have both.

Best tripod for GP/DX?

Posted By Don Wyman

The Hal 110 is a very solid tripod. I had it on my DX and felt it did the job extremely well.

C8 Advanced and Add-On CN-16 GPS

Posted By Don Wyman

The GPS is not as useful on the German Equatorial mount. On the forkmounted Nexstar 5i/8i, it will point the mount to the north. It cannot do that with the GEM. Therefore all it will do is give you the current position (Lat. & Long.) and time. You can get the same info from a $99 Garmin Etrex hand held GPS. I have the mount too, but I can't see paying almost $200 for that.

GM8 adequate for a C 9.25?

Posted By Don Wyman

The GM8 will do for visual use but the 9.25" is going to be a bit shaky if you want to do any imaging. Celestron used to sell the 9.25 on the GM8
