I'm glad to hear that this worked out well. It's a good story. Very nice looking scope too.

32mm UO Konig?

Posted By Harry Aiello

I held a cheap digital camera up to the 32mm Konig in a 60mm f8 spotter and took this picture of the hawk on a telephone tower at about 1/4 mile away.
Used behind a Meade #140 barlow in a C-8 it seems to have good contrast and detail on planets but I don't have a lot to compare it to. It sure is an easy eyepiece to look into though.

DSLR question.

Posted By Harry Aiello

A SLR film camera uses a strip 36mm by 24mm. The diagonal measurment is a little over 43mm. A 50mm focal length lens is usually considered 1x or unity for this format. For a round 18mm imager unity is considered 25mm. (seems like we just add 7 and divide). A D-100 has a diagonal measurement of 23.7 so it seems that anything after 30mm would start to get telephoto. The 1.5 conversion? To add to the confusion many of the zooms are listed as a ratio of the widest angle to the longest length which wouldn't indicate the actual power.

Me thinks your dog has serious concerns about the mental health of his owner and may be considering an alternate residence if such testing continues.
