Really nice, Robert. Have you got any other C-90 shots? I've got one of those.

Matt, if you havn't already, go to the aritcles section and do a search for Clayton Cramer for a couple of well written articles on both the fringe killer and the Chromacor.

I saw one of those sell on ebay about a 18 months ago for about $1700. I guess this is no indication of it's value but I thought I would let you know.
Regards,
Harry
P.S. I wish I would have bought it.

For pointing I use a Tasco Pro Point red dot on the Astroscan. You can leave both eyes open and get right on the target. Meade 26mm Plossl with an Orion ultra block will let you see lots of "smoke" around M42. These things are a lot of fun.

C-90 or Ultima 80

Posted By Harry Aiello

Just tried a 15mm EP in a C-90 and it works fine for about 300 yards. The ultima 80 has less than half the focal length so I doubt that would be an improvement. If you got a zoom it would be "mission accomplished", and cheaper. At about 100 power the heat waves take over. Stick with the C-90 unless you want a new toy.

The perfect scope?

One that can see through clouds. No matter the size or type.

C-90 eyepcs

Are you using the 45 degree configuration or 90 degree? I'm not sure how that system works but you may be better off with the 90 even if things are reversed, left to right. My old C-90 will easily show cracks in the joints of a cell phone tower at 350 yards with an 18mm ep. (55 power). With a 26mm Siebert things are very clear but I am seeing a hint of the shadow of the secondary. The 20mm Plossl should work pretty well. I don't like Plossls myself but that is a personal thing and mine are cheap ones. Your system should work.
