"Dalton's records, carefully preserved for a century, were destroyed during the World War II bombing of Manchester. It is not only the living who are killed in war."

Vixen/Celestron/Televue Mirror diagonal

Posted By mike welsh

Anyone here have any experience replacing the mirror in one of these puppies? i have the shells of two of these... the mirrors are cashed.

i had tried -i think it was- a .75" MA standard diagonal mirror, but it was too thick to allow reassembly.

Thanks!

The best thing about our government system: everyone is dispensable.

There's no real need for term limit legislation... just voting out the incompetents limits their terms. Automatically.

Good rule of thumb: Remember, it's an election... not a RE-election.

(only keep the ones you like...)

"The radio is nothing but a conduit through which pre-fabricated din can flow into our homes. And this din goes far deeper, of course, than the eardrums. It penetrates the mind, filling it with a babble of distractions, blasts of corybantic or sentimental music, continually repeated doses of drama that bring no catharsis, but usually create a craving for daily or even hourly emotional enemas."

-Aldous Huxley; On Silence; 1946.

Bottom line on "Hate."

Posted By mike welsh

Been working my way through the various threads on this, and maybe i missed it, but i think my original point when i posted "Another taste..." is this:

Matt Shepard was MURDERED. Period. It doesn't matter one iota if he was gay or anything else. The people who killed him were WRONG and MURDERERS. To put a monument in a public park proclaiming that he "went to Hell" is INFLAMMATORY and IMMORAL.

Whatever peace he made with his god on the days he hung dying on that barbed-wire fence will never be known by any mortal in this life. How dare ANYONE feel triumphant over his death, and presume to declare where his soul went?

Thank you.
