Apogee 102 to CG-5 mount

Posted By Edward Acklin

Big dummy question: I have an Apogee 102mm f/10 with the Apogee rings. I have a CG-5 mount. How do I find the proper dovetail to put them together into a working setup? I realize this is a very elementary question, but I'm a sort of elementary person. Thanks.

Mount questions:repeating myself...sorry...

Posted By Edward Acklin

Ok...I've asked that question about mount/dovetail before and looked back over the answers. I blame this memory lapse, along with progressive baldness, on my grandchildren, who have cheerfully accepted responsibility, though they've stopped short of rubbing my head for good luck.

Beginner's scope repair for club: Question

Posted By Edward Acklin

I'm refurbing an older Meade refractor for an EQ-user trainer for our local students' group and am in need of
a couple of flex-cable RA and DEC knob extenders. Anyone
know where I might find some?

Thanks!

Pheasant in my backyard

Posted By Edward Acklin

Finally got filesize right. This one showed up in my back yard early one morning. I've been seeing them on the roads around the ranch for awhile now. Escapees from a local "grow 'em, throw 'em & blow 'em" sort of "hunting lodge." Glad to see them get away, and hope they prosper here. Really beautiful birds.

Bluejay and Mockingbird fight

Can't decide who's the bigger bully around the ranch, jays or mockingbirds. This tussle lasted only a few seconds.

Dill certainly seems to work for Jim Taylor. Wildflowers do pretty well, too.

Eagle visitation this winter

Posted By Edward Acklin

We had over 200 eagles show up at a little 29-acre pond near our place this year. Couldn't get very close, and the light was in our faces for the morning shoot, but got a few. This one's standing on the ice.
