Jupiter f/30 ToUCam

Posted By Kirk Vanden

Hello,

Jupiter last night. I finally had some good weather after the massive thunderstorms that have been dumping rain from the Gulf of Mexico.

12 inch LX200GPS, ToUcam, 3x Televue Barlow, no diagonal, Optec TCF-S focuser.

This is the first time I had used the Optec for planetary viewing and it is really awesome. Vey precise focusing control.

M16 at f/10

Posted By Kirk Vanden

Hello,

This was from my third night out with my 2000xm and ao-7. This is a 50% reduction from full size. I'm still learning but I was able to grab a nice image of M16. Processing was a dark frame, and some midtone adjustment in Paintshop Pro.

12 inch LX200GPS at f/10
Optec TCF-S
15 minute single luminance exposure
binning 1x1
2000xm
ao-7 (1.8 Hz)

Seeing was good, but not great.

Endymion - June 23

Posted By Kirk Vanden

Hello,

After a long delay in getting a defective DMK 21F04 replaced I finally got out and took some more photos of the moon. This one was from June 23rd. I took it from Shalimar, Florida using a 12 inch SCT and DMK 21F04. I stacked the best 1,000 frames from a total of 4,700 using Registax.

Hello,

I shot this in late June. Just got it processed while I was evacuated for Hurricane Dennis and had nothing better to do.

DMK 21F04 camera. Meade 12 inch SCT. Best 1,000 frames out of about 4,000 in the AVI. Stacked in Registax 3 and adjusted in Paintshop Pro.

Seeing was so-so the night I shot this.

Hello,

I took this early Saturday morning. Seeing was great for f/10, but borderline for f/20. This picture is at f/10. I also took some pictures of this crater at f/20 and I hope to process them in a few days.

Meade 12 inch SCT, no diagonal, DMK 21F04 CCD camera. I used Registax3 to stack the best 1,000 out of 2,800 frames. An Optec-S TCF was used for precise focusing.
