Advantages are erect image and only concave mirrors. Disadvantages are length (longer than 'equivalent' cass) and severe off-axis coma.

Unusual threat in #321363

Posted By George Kiger

In classified ad #321363 seller says "I may bare myself". Is this not-so-subtle threat a new sales tactic? I hope not.

Can I buy my own item?

In Auction #880, the seller placed a bid - just curious, is this allowed? It seemed odd.

Not a 'Day in the Life' question, but how often do you think the Uncle Rod's Corner will be updated?

Re: 35 Panoptic vs. Tak 50 LE

The exit pupil with the 50 will be over 6mm - that's at the high end for most people (unless you are young - fairly normal for those in their 20s). It will be less than 4.5mm in the 35. For me, at least, that would be much more comfortable viewing - I look at 5mm as a maximum size exit pupil for my 50-year old eyes.

"Upgrade" from 155 to 160

Posted By George Kiger

Is it just me, or do others find it odd that a number of 155 owners are selling because they are getting a 160. I do not own an AP scope, and probably never will (a $ issue), but why would someone do this? Not challenging the action, just curious.

180mm FastMax auction

In reviewing this scope's description, I noted that it said all spherical and flat field. Doesn't the flat field Maksutov require some aspherizing of the primary? Or does accepting some coma remove the requirment to aspherize?

Will 140's affect aftermarket sales of 130's?

Posted By George Kiger

See Classified #519351 - selling a 130. Wonder if we will see more of these as the 140 notification proceeds.
