Sunrise in Heber Valley

Posted By Doug Walton

Great light! This might have been a good one to do several horizontal panorama shots via a tripod, and then stitch them together. That might have allowed you to forgo a bunch of the foreground "ground" and focus in on the snow-covered peaks and that wonderful sky. Still pretty danged cool!

Nice observing report. This is nothing new to those of us that have Zambuto mirrors - go get one!

Scope for sale on Astromart

Posted By Doug Walton

Why is it "a shame" that the owner didn't use it?

He paid his money for it. What he does (or doesn't do) with it is his business. It's just a telescope, fer chrissakes.

Herb, does the image need to have been taken with a camera bought from ATWB, or does it matter?

Happy New Year!

Best scope for $10,000

Posted By Doug Walton

Starmaster 20" w/ Zambuto and full GOTO/tracking. Best combination of one-person portability and high performance. I personally would rather have a 20" over a 24" all things considered.

Obsession or Starmaster

Posted By Doug Walton

Call Rick Singmaster at Starmaster and talk for 30 minutes.
Call Dave K. at Obsession and talk for 30 minutes.
Go visit the Zambuto e-group board and read Carl Zambuto's posts.
Look at the relative resale values of Obsession vs. Starmaster.
There is more to a Zambuto mirror than reputation alone.
No one supports customers better than Starmaster.
Go to a star party and see these scopes in action.
DO a search here to find this topic covered several times over the last couple of years.

Good luck,
