Hi Eric,

A very fine image of Saturn, with good resolution on the belts and zones especially.

Best,
Damian

Hi all,

Thanks. I already promised Paolo i wont complain if its cloudy now for the rest of the apparition after that night :-). That was the best seeing ive had in many months.

Its actually been on the whole a very poor autumn/winter here in western europe. One of the most cloudy i can ever recall...

Best Wishes,

Damian

Re: Saturn Opposition 2005 - Thanks.

Hi all,

Many thanks for you kind words. Those many nights of the winter period have been mediocre, i have been fortunate on a few nights this apparition smile

The C9.25 is an excellent scope, with a great star test but i'll soon be using a 10" F/12.5 Mak Cass as the main scope so it may not see so much action then.

Best Wishes

Hi Eric,

A lovely image of Saturn. Youve got the colour balance nice, and the encke division is clear. Its amazing what these C9.25s can produce. Mine has really changed my views of whats possible with such an aperture this apparition.

You seem to have been pretty luck with the seeing this month. Where abouts are you in the US?. Up north i'm guessing from the mention of snow and shovel smile

Hi Eric,

Great stuff. Having seen many, many Saturn images in my time, i can say thats one of the best ive seen produced from the USA.

I was imaging tonight, but poor seeing. Using a Mewlon 210 for a while to see how that does. I doubt it will equal the C9.25, but we shall see.

Best Wishes

A quick note...

Posted By Damian Peach

Hi all,

Due to rapdily increasing work and other commitments in my life away from the forum, its unlikely i will be able to post here much anymore in the coming months into the summer sad .

I'd just like to wish everyone the very best of luck in their observing and imaging, and its been very enjoyable debating and discussing a whole manner of differant topics with you all and seeing the many excellent images posted. I'll drop in when i can...

Best Regards,

Damian Peach.

Re: Martian Prelude

Hi all,

Thanks. Mars is still rather low for observers north of 40N - this time next month it will finally be high enough to observe again. Lets hope the dust stays firmly on the surface for the northern hemisphere's best opposition since 1988!.
