My best Saturn yet

Hi Russell,

Very nice shot and well processed. The colour is very weak though. You may want to not decrease the colour saturation so much.

Otherwise, very nicely done.

Jupiter with my ED100

Thats really nice for a smaller scope. I was alsways impressed what my Vixen 80mm apo could do smile . Even small scopes with webcams can do some really nice stuff.

Re: Saturn Opposition Collaboration

Posted By Damian Peach

Hi all,

Firstly, thanks for your comments. I'll deal with some comments on this reply.

Paolo - i'd agree in some way. The resolution hasnt really been improved, but what has been improved is being able to present the image larger while being smooth and sharp. It is i feel perhaps a bit more aesthetically pleasing than the C9.25 shot alone, and the majority of opinion seems to agree.

Eric - The image was at 10fps.

We were fortunate to be using the exact same cameras and filters. The C11 used by David Tyler now, was previously my C11 i'd used for the last few years. We live just 3/4 mile apart, so this is a great advantage, and we hope to produce more collaborative efforts in the future.

Best Wishes

Damian

Hi Wes,

The Dec shot certainly has the edge. Very impressive image of that feature.

Saturn last night

Hi Jim,

Thats a very nice shot. After Jan 13th the seeing has gone back to the usual winter standard. It can stay that way for now - i need a break after all the processing smile

Plato in shadow

Posted By Damian Peach

Hi Wes,

Thats a really interesting image. I've seen very few Plato images at such illumination. I know Paolo did one some time back i think. The long shadows cast across the floor, and the better contrast of some of the elusive floor detail is quite dramatic.

Better late than never on the processing smile

Saturn with my ED100

Hi Paul,

Thats a really good shot for a 10cm refractor. Will be interested to see what you can get on Jupiter when its nearer opposition with it.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your comments. I await the next night of steady seeing. They seem to be spaced at monthly intervals right now!. Frustrating conditions recently with high pressure and overcast skies. Hopefully and improvement soon...

Best Wishes

Damian
